Full of mystery and culture dating back millennia, Peru is an indomitable land of deserts etched with ancient geoglyphs, rainforests teeming with wildlife, and soaring peaks harbouring secret cities.

While many travellers come to visit one of South America's most famous sites, the ruins of Machu Picchu, the real Peru lies within its warm, proud inhabitants – many of whom can trace their bloodlines back to the Incas. What you might not expect is the foodie bonanza found in Lima or the adventures that await you in the ancient capital of Cusco. Whether you’re exploring the cobbled streets of Arequipa, bobbing on the floating islands of Lake Titicaca or uncovering mummies in Nazca, our Peru tours will have you feeling like a modern-day Indiana Jones.

DAY 03 - 20 September 2024
LIMA (B) Your sightseeing tour explores the modern districts of Lima and its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical movements also reached Peru and a handful of well-preserved buildings offer a glimpse of the blend of past and present that characterizes the capital. One of the best examples included in our tour is the cathedral (16th century) containing the remains of the Spanish conqueror Pizarro. Your next stop is at the Larco Herrera Museum. The collection allows the understanding of 3,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history in an intuitive way. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of pre-Inca art and have been displayed in the world's most renowned museums.

DAY 04 - 21 September 2024
LIMA – CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY (B,L) At the proper time, you will be transferred to the airport for your next destination to Cusco. Suggested flight (not included) 09:15 Departure from Lima with LA2322 10:35 Arrival in Cusco Welcome to the Incan city of Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and privately escorted to your hotel in Sacred Valley to rest and slowly acclimatize. This morning you will be picked up from your hotel for your tour to the Pisac market in the Sacred Valley. Originally a place where people from remote communities used to barter their products, Pisac has evolved to one of South America's most famous souvenir markets. Make sure to sample some 'empanadas' baked in traditional clay ovens. Have lunch in the restaurant "Casa Colonial", located in the heart of Urubamba. Today you will enjoy a meal in an over 200-years-old restored colonial-style mansion with elegant furnishings and a beautiful view of the main square of Urubamba. Chef René Rodríguez's menu features traditional Peruvian dishes prepared using local organically grown ingredients. Afternoon visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo where the Temple of the Sun (formed of six gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons) and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out. Arrive into your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

DAY 05 - 22 September 2024
SACRED VALLEY (B, L) Today you'll visit the charming community of Chincheros. Explore the remains of Tupac Inca Yupanqui's royal house, as well as a beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations. Then, you will visit the salt mines of Maras where an intense white shines like snow on a sunny day - an impressive sight for any visitor. Salt was extracted from these mines from Inca times on and the same method has been used ever since. You then head to Moray. The circular terraces hidden among the hills are similar to a Greek amphitheater. Surrounded by an impressive backdrop of snow-covered mountains, Moray was used as an open-air agricultural lab for adapting crops to different environmental conditions. Enjoy a three-course lunch at Misminay, a traditional Andean community close to the district of Maras. Lunch is cooked by the families of the community with naturally cultivated ingredients from their fields. On a clear day views at Misminay are truly phenomenal. You can see most of the snow-capped mountains of the Sacred Valley and the surrounding farmlands Then, during a weaving demonstration at the Andean community of Misminay your hostess will teach you the techniques used many centuries ago by their ancestors. The preparation process includes the gathering of wool, and its spinning, plying and dyeing Finally, you will visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo where the Temple of the Sun (formed of six gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons) and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out.

DAY 07 - 24 September 2024
CUSCO (B) This morning will be at leisure to rest from your past busy days in Machu Picchu. Later this afternoon, your half day sightseeing tour starts with Sacsayhuaman Fortress, the largest and most magnificent work left by the Incas. The massive terrace walls are amongst the largest used in any building in the Americas. The meticulous precision of the rockwork sheds light on the mastery of the Inca stonemasons. Then, you head back to Cusco city. Admire the most impressive example of how Inca and Hispanic cultures fused together at the Koricancha or Sun Temple. Just at walking distance you find the Cathedral dominating the north-east side of Cusco’s main square. One of the most famous paintings and icons within is the ‘Last Supper’ by Quechua artist Marcos Zapata. The 18th century painting symbolizes the blend of indigenous and European cultures. Instead of a lamb on the table you find a guinea pig. Take then a cobblestoned street going up to the traditional artist's quarter of San Blas. Many of the best craftsmen have their workshops and small galleries in the cobbled, narrow streets. From the main square, take Triunfo Street to Hatunrumiyoc and see its famous twelve-sided stone.
